Death waits at Dakins Station / Merle Constiner.
It sounded easy enough. Just ride out to Dakins Station, tell Mr. Lustrell that Shaw can t make it, and collect ten dollars for his trouble. Brady Willet was an out-of-work cowhand waiting for the spring hiring season. Down to his last thirty-five cents, he needed that ten bucks like a weary horse needs water. So he agreed to do it. There wasn't much to Dakins Station -- a couple of sorry-looking, run-down buildings a couple of hours from town. As he studied his surroundings in the faint moonlight, Brady can't help but think it would be a great place for an ambush. He called out for Mr. Lustrell and waited. What followed was anything but easy as Brady found himself caught in a life-and-death struggle.
