Summary:

Poignant story of unrequited love, set in 17th century France. Highlighted by the Oscar-winning performance of Ferrer as Cyrano, the long-nosed poet and swordsman who helps a handsome rival woo and win the beautiful Roxane, whom Cyrano himself secretly loves.
